DESCRIPTION:
The Jewels quilt is a modern design and I had so much fun making it. The patchwork forms “jewel”
drops and is set on the cross to look like droplets down the quilt. creating a beautiful quilt that is cheerful and
would brighten any room. The fabrics include plains, florals and tone-on-tone designs. The backing
fabric is a soft buttercup with small dusty oink roses with a beige binding.
A welcome addition to any bed to bring spring colour and freshness into the room or perfect as a
throw on the lounge to snuggle under on a cool evening. Also, a lovely size for grandma in the nursing home or to
keep in the caravan.
A great gift for an baby shower, granny moving into a nursing home, or any occasion to express love.
CONSTRUCTION:
The fabrics in this patchwork quilt are all 100% cotton and machine pieced for a long-lasting quilt.
The batting between the layers is 100% cotton, perfect for our Australian climate. I finished the quilt
with a double folded binding, machine stitched to the front and back, for aa
neat finish that is strong and durable. The quilting design is finished by me, in my home studio, with
a long-arm quilting machine. I love making quilts and take great care with every part of the process
from the quilt design, fabric colour selection and sewing, to create a patchwork quilt that will last for
many years to come and hopefully be treasured by the owner.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
All my patchwork quilts and napery are made to be used and loved. They are durable and can be
machine washed in cold or warm water with a gentle washing powder, tumble dried on a low
setting, or line dried. If you hang them outside, it is best to hang them in the shade rather than the
full sun (or hang them upside down to avoid the beautiful colours fading and bring them inside as
soon as they are dry). As they are washed, they will become softer and cosier, getting more snuggly
with age.
NOTES:
All quilts are made in my smoke-free home studio in Brisbane, Australia.
Fabrics are pre-washed to avoid shrinkage.
