Introducing Dianne
With almost 50 years of dressmaking experience, I have been creating with fabric for a long time. During the years, I have watched the industry change with overseas purchasing making clothing more available and affordable, and perhaps not so unique.
When my first grandchild was born, I turned my hand to patchwork quilting to make a truly unique and personalised gift which has been treasured for more than 14 years! It’s a little faded now and super soft from all the years of loving, but still very precious!
I love to explore and create different types of patchwork quilts and make all my handmade quilts with 100% cotton fabrics and wadding, making them very easy to care for. They are quilted with a long arm quilting machine, to add texture and design elements to make a beautiful patchwork quilt that will be both practical and durable.
Cotton patchwork quilts are an ideal way to add warmth, texture and ‘layers’ to your home. They’re perfect for softening a formal space, adding a splash of colour to your lounge or bedroom and create a feeling of home wherever they are.
The modern patchwork quilts for sale here are perfect for laying on the floor when babies are having tummy time, throwing over the lounge, spreading on a bed, taking in the car for a summer picnic, or dressing up your dinner table. They can be easily washed (and tumble dried) as often as is necessary. They’re lightweight, but still provide warmth on a cold night, perfect for the Australian climate.
Each quilt I make is a one-of-a-kind. Some may have similar designs or fabrics, but each one is unique. If you are interested in a particular colour, style or size, I’m happy to make custom made, personalised quilts for any occasion.

Long Arm Quilting
A few years ago, I purchased a long arm quilting machine and this has been so wonderful to quilt with. Every traditional and modern patchwork quilt for sale, has been finished with the long arm quilting machine, which results in a very professional finish that enhances the fabrics and the design of the quilt.
Long arm quilting allows the ‘quilting’ to be planned and programmed to highlight and add detail to the quilt. The result is a cotton patchwork quilt that has depth and texture in addition to the beautiful cotton fabrics. The reverse side of a beautiful patchwork quilt that has been finished with a long arm quilting machine, has as much interest as the top of the quilt.

Since I began quilting, many years ago, I have been exploring the many skills and techniques required to make a variety of patchwork quilt designs. The different types of patchwork quilts I make include:

I love the challenge of a block-of-the-month and the one pictured above, is the most recent one I have completed from Laundry Basket Quilts. The colour palette I chose has created such a pretty patchwork quilt that contains a variety of different techniques. It’s always amazing to see how a block-of-the-month comes together as you stitch the pieces without the overall design in view. This one was a beautiful quilt to make and would be ideal for a queen size bed.
