Rag Joey Quilt
MEASUREMENTS:
Approx.100cm x 120cm, Gender Neutral recommended for a baby quilt or play mat or lap quilt for Gran in the nursing home.
DESCRIPTION:
A beautiful patchwork rag style quilt in light blue/grey with cute kangaroo and joey co-ordinated with a light gold fabric. The backing features white and gold. The rag style quilt has a beautiful texture with the fringing effect of the seams. This texture is especially fun for your baby’s or seniors senses . This size quilt is easy to take anywhere to have a safe surface to put your baby on, or easy to store in a nursing home.
CONSTRUCTION:
The fabrics in this patchwork quilt are all 100% cotton flannelette and machine pieced for a long-lasting quilt. The batting between the layers is 100% cotton, perfect for our Australian climate. The quilting design is basic cross-hatching to combine all three layers, finished by me, in my home studio. I love making quilts and take great care with every part of the process from the quilt design, fabric colour selection and sewing, to create a patchwork quilt that will last for many years to come and hopefully be treasured by the owner.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
All my patchwork quilts and napery are made to be used and loved. They are durable and can be machine washed in cold or warm water with a gentle washing powder, tumble dried on a low setting, or line dried. If you hang them outside, it is best to hang them in the shade rather than the full sun (or hang them upside down to avoid the beautiful colours fading and bring them inside as soon as they are dry). As they are washed, they will become softer and cosier, getting more snuggly with age. The rag style quilt gets more texture the more you wash it.
